Smith Duggan Buell & Rufo LLP devotes a substantial portion of its work to the defense of product liability cases and has experience in over 100 trials. It has represented clients in federal or state courts in most of the 50 states and the District of Columbia. Two of our senior attorneys have bachelor of science degrees. We have significant experience with defending against allegations of defective design or defective manufacture involving various products including electrical equipment from generating stations, transformers, switchgear, panelboards, receptacles, and extension cords to motorized and pneumatic tools, as well as metal forming equipment, presses, industrial machinery and ovens, hand tools, home appliances, windows, carpet and fitness products. 

Smith Duggan is national counsel to General Electric Industrial Systems and Lighting Divisions (industrial, commercial and consumer products). Other long-time clients include Stanley Works (tools), Nortek, Inc., Broan-NuTone, Yuasa, Inc. (industrial batteries) and Cincinnati, Inc.
