
James E. Clancy IV, Associate
Jim practices in the areas of workers’ compensation law, real estate, commercial finance, probate, estate planning, contracts, and corporate law. In the fields of real estate and commercial finance, Jim advises clients in the acquisition and sale of real estate, financing, and land use. Through his work in the fields of probate and estate planning, Jim aids clients in all aspects of estate administration, including probate litigation, sale and transfer of property, and accounting and disbursement of assets and has experience guiding clients through the guardianship and conservatorship process. He also advises clients on the management, preservation, and ultimate distribution of their assets through effective estate planning. Additionally, in the fields of corporate law and contracts, Jim assists clients in their review, negotiation, and revision of contracts and advises them on corporate formation, maintenance, and, when necessary, dissolution.
Jim received his J.D. from New England Law, Boston in 2012. While in law school, he served as Senior Literary Editor of the New England Journal on Criminal and Civil Confinement and earned CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in both Negotiation and Juvenile Law.
Jim is an elected Town Meeting Representative for the Town of Chelmsford and is a member of Chelmsford’s Finance Committee, having served as its Vice Chair from 2014 through 2016 and as its Chair from 2016 through the present.
Jim also serves as the Treasurer of the Massachusetts Family and Probate American Inn of Court, a position which he has held since 2016.
