
Nicole B. Cordeiro, Partner
Nicole Cordeiro has been practicing law since 2006. Her practice focuses on estate planning, estate administration, divorce, guardianship matters, and complex probate litigation. She has broad experience in business disputes and premises liability. She also represents health care providers in civil proceedings.
Nicole is an experienced trial attorney who has served as lead counsel in many jury trials. She honed her skills as a prosecutor in the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office prosecuting a wide variety of felonies. She has extensive experience in litigation before the Massachusetts Superior Court and U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
Prior to practicing law, Nicole was a high school Italian teacher. She credits her years of teaching for providing her with the ability to present a persuasive case and engage a jury. She is fluent in Italian and in French.
- Has extensive experience with both jury and bench trials.
- In the field of mental health, represented a leading Massachusetts hospital in more than 100 commitment hearings to obtain needed patient care.
- In the area of estate administration, successfully removed a special personal representative attorney who was unknown to the decedent and who represented ten unfamiliar and estranged heirs to the estate. In the process, persuaded the Middlesex Probate and Family Court to appoint an independent representative.
- In the field of estate planning, managed several challenging end-of-life matters where clients were too sick to wait for the drafting of a will. In these matters, creative means to design an effective estate plan were successfully implemented.
