Best Lawyers®, the highly regarded peer-review guide for the legal profession, has just released the 27th Edition of The Best Lawyers® in America. Once again numerous Smith Duggan Buell & Rufo partners were included in these significant rankings.

For the eighth consecutive year, founding partner Christopher A. Duggan was recognized for his professional excellence in three key areas of trial practice: commercial litigation, insurance litigation, and product liability litigation defense.

David M. Governo was selected for his representation of defendants in mass tort litigation and class actions. He was also chosen for his accomplishments in defending personal injury lawsuits.

Paul Alan Rufo was cited for his outstanding capabilities within the area of real estate law. For the sixth year, Andrew P. Stempler was also selected for his skill in this area of the law as well.

Mathew J. Walko was recognized by Best Lawyers® for his professional accomplishments in insurance law while Kenneth M. Wright was acknowledged for his expertise in family law.

This year, Best Lawyers® also recognized attorneys who have demonstrated professional excellence early in their careers in a special category titled, “Ones to Watch.” The Smith Duggan Buell & Rufo selections were James E. Clancy IV for trusts and estates and Vincent N. DePalo for both product liability litigation - defendants and personal injury litigation – defendants.

"Our attorneys rank highly in so many leading peer review publications," said Managing Partner Barbara Hayes Buell. "Please join me in congratulating our lawyers for their selection as Best Lawyers® in their respective fields," she added.

Best Lawyers® is the oldest and one of the most respected attorney ranking service in the world. Attorneys named to The Best Lawyers® in America are recognized by their peers for their professional skill in numerous practice areas.

For the current edition, only five percent of lawyers in private practice were selected as Best Lawyers®. “Ones to Watch” is based entirely on peer review and employs the same methodology that has made Best Lawyers® the gold standard for legal rankings worldwide.
